Contemporary Garden With a View

This new, modernist house is situated on a highly, sloping site with views out into the Essex countryside. The lower garden has been terraced into two spaces created by a striking, curvaceous concrete wall, which imitates the curved features of the house. A large terrace leads to a lawn area which in turns leads to a contemporary lay out of planting beds set in gravel. The walling is softened everywhere by abundant perennial and ornamental grass planting. Low level, curving hedging throughout the site continues the theme. An orchard has been planted and multiple trees throughout will add stature as they mature.
