Garden With Naturalistic Planting
The creation of nine large planting beds has transformed a quarter of an acre of rough field into an oasis of naturalistic planting. Narrow pathways weave between the planting which, by the time high summer arrives, are obscured by a sea of colour and movement. The plants are presented in large drifts which both gives a more natural appearance and also makes for easier maintenance. Around 40% are ornamental grasses which provide architectural interest through the winter months. Above the planting beds drifts of blue bells and fox gloves allow the area to segue into the countryside beyond.
