Natural Pond and Reflecting Pool

A neglected natural pond has been restored and bought back to life with aquatic and marginal planting. Massed sibirican iris provide colour in May after which water lilies, peace lilies and then yellow flowered ligularia take up the batten through summer. These are complemented by huge leaved hostas, ferns and various architectural plants. Hedging in both beech and box has been added defining the space around it and also creating a formal entranceway. Further into the garden the water theme has been repeated with a large, classic reflecting pool where seclusion provides a peaceful and calm space to sit.
